Recreating and visiting a digital version of the real world.
We wanted to undergo the complex task of recreating a real-life building with accurate scaling, proportions, and other features to show users the experience, potential, and accessibility of creating and visiting a digital version of the real world.
Additionally, we wanted to use no plans or blueprints for this challenge to show that it is possible to use minimal reference and Minecraft as a tool for creating these experiences. We had to base everything on images taken of the building.
By combining new custom designing tools, close attention to detail, and an agile workflow, it was possible for us to create the necessary shapes and features.
What we achieved was a digital but realistic recreation that one-upped the experience provided by classic model building. With proper exportability, it allowed for any user to jump into the perspective of a person and view the building digitally without real-life restrictions.
